The homemade Eyedropper Diver sinker Ever wondered how a submarine manages to sink to the bottom of the ocean and then rise again upon command? What scientific principle is involved that allows an object to both sink and float? Read on... كيف تصنع غواص تتحكم فيه بنفسك ؟ الخطوات:- 1- إملأ زجاجة البلاستيك بالماء . Fill the plastic bottle with water. 2-ضع القطارة فى الزجاجة واسحب جزء من الماء بحيث تظل القطارة طافية وبشكل رأسى . Gradually draw water into the eyedropper until the eyedropper floats in the glass with its top barely above the surface. 3-إملأ الزجاجة تماما بالماء . Fill the soda bottle almost to the top with room-temperature water. 4-أغلق الزجة بإحكام بحيث لا يتسرب إليها الهواء . Put the lid on the bottle and tighten so that it does not leak any air. 5- إضغط على الزجاجة Squeeze the sides of the bottle. كيف تفسر هبوط القطارة وصعودها لأعلى بواسطة الضغط على جانبى الزجاجة . What do you think causes the Eyedropper Diver to sink when you squeeze the sides of the bottle? عند الضغط على الزجاجة ، يزداد الضغط بداخلها فيقل حجم الهواء بالقطارة ويرتفع الماء بها و يزداد وزنها فتهبط لأسفل . By squeezing the bottle, you increase the pressure inside, thus forcing more water up into the Eyedropper Diver. The added water in the Eyedropper Diver increases its weight and causes the cap to sink. تعمل الغواصة بنفس الفكرة ، فإذا كانت كثافة الغواصة أقل من كثافة الماء تطفو ، أما إذا زاد وزن الغواصة و أصبحت كثافتها أعلى من كثافة الماء فى المحيط فإنها تغطس وهذا ما يقوم به طاقم الغواصة . A submarine works along these same principles. If the average density of the submarine is less than that of the water then the submarine will float. If the average density of the submarine is more that that of the water then the sub will sink (or dive in submarine terminology). While the submarine contains a lot of air (which would make it float since the density is less than that of the water) it also contains a lot of steel (which has a high density). So you see, it's the average density that makes the submarine act the way it does. How can you change the average density of the sub 'on the fly' to make it float or sink on command? Just like with the Eyedropper Diver, water is pumped in and out of ballast tanks by the submarine crew. اكتشف العالم الفرنسى "باسكال" أن الضغط الذى يحدث فى السوائل ينتشر فى جميع الإتجاهات بقدر متساو. The French scientist Blaise Pascal discovered the fact that pressure in a fluid is transmitted equally to all distances and in all directions.
